Dedicated to our students. Goal oriented. Proven success.
Issue after issue, Paul Geller has delivered for our Montgomery County Public Schools students, teachers, staff, administrators, and families.
When a Board of Education member wanted to increase the Operating Budget request by $100,000,000 in 2016 so we could hire an additional 600 teachers, and add new programs, he insisted only one person could get this impossible task accomplished: Paul Geller.
When students wanted a greater voice for their Student Member of the Board of Education, it was Paul who was there for them. One of the only adults to testify, he was able to help dedicated student leaders from across Maryland finally give SMOBs statewide expanded voting rights on Board matters such as voting on the budget.
When a Principal wasted countless hours of his time trying to get a brand new HVAC system to work, he called on Paul to help get it fixed.
When the student voice was going to be reduced due to a staffing reduction that would have eliminated the full-time Student Leadership Coordinator position that had existed for nearly half a century, Paul said no. He swiftly contacted the Superintendent and all members of the Board of Education, and brought this matter to their attention. The position was saved.
When a Title 1 school had unacceptably old portables still housing their teachers and students, Paul continuously advocated to make things right. Today, Summit Hall Elementary School has two new buildings where portables once stood.
When a Principal wanted to start the year off right with coats of fresh paint in her school’s conference room and the office of her newly minted Assistant Principal, without hesitation Paul heeded the call. He and his son painted the rooms themselves.
Over and over again, Paul Geller has been there for our students. And now, he wants to be there for you in a new capacity, as your next At-Large member of the Board of Education.
Please vote for Paul Geller, Board of Education At-Large, on April 28, 2020.
